When Jesus was a Green Eyed Brunette- Book Review #jesusgreeneyed #flyby
When Jesus was a Green Eyed Brunette is not at all what I was expecting it to be. Honestly I wasn't sure what to expect. I am truly grateful to have had the chance to review, as this came into my life at the perfect timing. Yes I know God certainly has something to do with that as there are no coincidences according to the book.
This is a brilliant eye opener written by Max Davis explaining how he became close to Jesus, and continues to learn and grow to the next levels of his relationship with Him. The chapters are short, deep and powerful. This book takes us through some of Davis's life journey's as a teenager discovering the true relationship with Jesus up until his life now. As you go through the chapters we learn the stories of others who have discovered Jesus deep within, and the supernatural feeling when that actually occurs. This is a book about all different types of people, from a biker, homeless man, the apostles, those that escaped death, those that saw Him right before they died, all these people had one common supernatural feeling of peace, warmth and love, when the heart is truly open to accepting Jesus.
Through each chapter he tells of different stories throughout his life. The different people that he has met, and the reconfirmations of Jesus living inside each of us, by the different people he has met and interviewed along the way. He discusses how he first started his relationship with Jesus, and how it had to do with a Green Eyed Brunette who plays a significant role in his life.
Max started as a football player, he was mediocre with his grades, and was your average teenaged kid. Into girls, parties....etc. Until one day he met the Green Eyed Brunette. Something inside him had changed completely like Jesus was living inside of her to get to him. It was no coincidence that they met.
Max Davis grew up knowing about God but didn't have a true relationship with Him. While reading through the chapters, I found myself relating to a lot of what he was talking about with his feelings towards God and the church, and most of all being a skeptic.
This book will mean different things to different people. And honestly that is the way it should be. A relationship with Jesus is not something that is a cookie cutter. God made us all to be different and unique and for good reason. We aren't meant to understand everything that happens as we need to put our trust in Him that he is with us every step of the way.
Growing up there was only one Church that I truly felt at home in. I honestly have not searched for one since. I have always believed in God and Jesus, I have always believed in doing good for others. I have felt that the four walls of a Church mean different things to different people. This book made me feel more at peace for my decision not to seek out another church. Church is not meant for everyone; however, that does not mean you can't have a relationship with Jesus because you don't belong to a church.
I can go on and on about this book, as I read through it I laughed some, and tears also came to my eyes as I was so moved. But now it's time for you to get yours! It's giveaway time. I want to thank you for taking the time to read this. And good luck with the giveaway, I hope it moves you the way it did me. a Rafflecopter giveaway
