Image
*****great news**** and an Update*** The Giveaway to get the paperback copy for this is over; however, you can digitally read When We Last Spoke for free right now!!!! Oh where do I begin about this book? When We Last Spoke written by Marci Henna, starts off with two sisters, Juliet and Evangeline Cranbourne, that need to order a head stone for their beloved grandparents. The sisters have become estranged over the years by misunderstandings that happened during their childhood. This is where their story begins.  Through out the book we go through the journey of the lives of Juliet and Evangeline, two orphaned sisters. The story is beautifully written, I laughed and cried and felt the love radiating from the their story. I really couldn't put it down, it was a quick read that made a big impact. This story brings us through the sisters childhood when they were left on their very loving grandparents ranch. This story shows so much love, trials and tribulations of growing ...

Great Book for Beginners! The Beginner's Bible Review #thebeginnersbible #flyby

Image
The Beginners Bible by Zondervan is an excellent book to introduce children to the stories in the Bible. It starts off with the Old Testament bringing you through the rest of the Bible. The stories are easy to read using modern language the kids will understand. This book is something that the little ones will treasure and enjoy reading because it is easy to read and gives visuals with great illustrations. The stories in this book are fun for the kids to read, as well as an adult reading to the kids. The most popular Bible stories are in this book including how Christianity started. It shows kids that even the worst of people can change and that Jesus loves all. It shows how Jesus Christ has become the Lord after his death by God giving Him Heaven and Earth. This book will grab your child's attention as it has done with mine. I have four children and each one of them enjoy reading this for their own reasons. There are over 500 pages to this book along with an Table of Conten...

When Jesus was a Green Eyed Brunette- Book Review #jesusgreeneyed #flyby

Image
When Jesus was a Green Eyed Brunette is not at all what I was expecting it to be. Honestly I wasn't sure what to expect. I am truly grateful to have had the chance to review, as this came into my life at the perfect timing. Yes I know God certainly has something to do with that as there are no coincidences according to the book. This is a brilliant eye opener written by Max Davis explaining how he became close to Jesus, and continues to learn and grow to the next levels of his relationship with Him. The chapters are short, deep and powerful. This book takes us through some of Davis's life journey's as a teenager discovering the true relationship with Jesus up until his life now. As you go through the chapters we learn the stories of others who have discovered Jesus deep within, and the supernatural feeling when that actually occurs. This is a book about all different types of people, from a biker, homeless man, the apostles, those that escaped death, those that saw Him ri...

Classic Children's Story With a Great Lesson- Charlie the Tramp Review and #Giveaway

Image
Charlie the Tramp is a classic short story from the 60's. It's great seeing older books that are timeless pieces with the great lessons kids learn from. This story reminds kids that taking the easy way out isn't always the best thing. Charlie's parents let Charlie experience what Charlie wanted to experience to be a tramp instead of doing what beavers do. Charlie felt that he wanted the simple task of carrying sticks and nothing else. "Tramps just tramp around and have a good time. They carry sticks with little bundles tied to them. They sleep in a field when the weather is nice, and when it rains they sleep in a barn" Throughout this short story is Charlie's adventure as he tries to be a tramp. He grabs some snacks for when he is hungry and goes on his merry way. Now Charlie at first enjoyed this; his first night out went great, he ate his snacks, slept and returned home the next day. He helped with some chores and left again in the evening to be a t...

Say & Pray Devotions, A great book for those with little ones! #flyby #sayandpray

Image
I have said it before and I will say it again, God is so miraculous. I have had the pleasure of giving a review to this book Say & Pray Devotions, First Words, Devotions and Prayers, board book by Diane Stortz and Illustrated by Sarah Ward. This board book is great for a few different reasons. First it helps little ones learn to read by having pictures next to words, and what goes on throughout the day. For example the first pages show Good Morning and a little girl in a bathroom with a wash cloth, tooth brushes, tooth paste etc....This also has a simple say and pray. Gives a simple passage from the bible and a sweet short little prayer. The book takes us through out the day into the night. Each page is the same with words and places and the say and pray. The children of the book go to the zoo, the playground and the beach. This shows the little ones music with joyful noise, playing with friends, helpers that serve the community, and pets. Each page is illustrated with cute chi...

Parenting a Must Read for those devoted to Christian Faith ---Review #gospelparenting & #flyby

Image
Let's face it none of us are perfect parents, most of us strive to be, but it's next to impossible to be. And you know what, that is okay. Why, because we weren't meant to be the perfect parents. In fact, we set ourselves up for failure because of the expectations we put on ourselves, and worse we tend to put on our kids. It's not our jobs to be trophy parents. Our kids aren't trophies. They are going to be good at things and bad at others, and it's all okay!  Parenting by Paul David Tripp could not have come into my life at a better time. God certainly does work in mysterious ways. He knows when to give us what we need in life for ourselves and for our kids.  This books takes us through the journey of parenting and teaches us the difference between owning our children and being ambassadors for our children. Owning children sets us all up for disaster and frustration. Tripp takes us through parenting through "14 Gospel Principles that Can Radicall...
